This would be a good time to set up a reminder system and
make up a greeting card file
for upcoming birthdays, anniversaries
and more.

HOW TO…………

keep track of family & friend events like
anniversaries and birthdays AND get their card mailed on time……..
1) For this you will
need a sturdy shoe box
or plastic storage box.
2) Then make a list of everyone you want to remember to send a card to.
Next to their name list the event – month – date. (For history
tracking, on my main list I put the year of birth, wedding, work start
date, etc. so I will be ready for those milestone years like 10th
anniversary, 40th birthday……)
3) Now set a time to go to a card store, order cards and/or make your
cards FOR THE WHOLE YEAR! Do this as a 12 month cycle. (or at least do
it for 6 months) Go by your list &
get the cards for each event.
4) Nestle each card in their envelope and in the top right hand corner of
the envelope (where the postage stamp goes) write in pencil the persons
name and date of event. When you mail it, the stamp will cover your
pencil note.
5) Now place the
envelopes w/card in order by DATE and put them in the box so that you can
see the penciled in name & dates.
6) Keep this in a place that you will see often so that you won’t forget
to send the cards
BEFORE the event date.
7) Also as a reminder - indicate the names & events on your monthly
calendar that you use regularly.

‘user’ friendly for the receiver by putting the Styrofoam peanuts,
shredded paper, etc. in plastic bags BEFORE you place them in the boxes
to safeguard the items you are sending through the mail.

Putting food out on a table
at work and at home is a convenient way for co-workers and friends to
serve themselves to “what they want – when they want”. BUT....
DON'T forget to keep the
food SAFE to eat!
-
Keep cold foods cold. That means 40
°
or colder.
Have lots of ice available. An easy way is to put ice in a
large bowl and then set a smaller bowl of the food to be kept cold
inside the bowl of ice.
-Keep
hot food hot. That means 140°
or hotter.
Use a crock pot and keep it plugged in and turned on – stir the food
often to keep it evenly heated since the lid will be off a lot of the
time. Crock pots come in many sizes and are reasonably priced.
You can also use electric warming trays to place platters of items on
– like my Spinach Appetizer (go to my
Recipe Box).
