| 300º, 90 Minutes |
|
| Cream Together: | 2 sticks margarine |
| 1 stick butter 1 - 8 oz. box cream cheese 3 cups sugar |
|
| Alternately add: 2 eggs at a time & 1 cup flour until all ingredients are used & the batter is thick & smooth | 6 eggs |
| 3 Cups Flour | |
| Add: | |
| 1 tsp. Vanilla | |
| Start in a cold oven. Bake in a greased, floured tube pan at 300 degrees for 1-1/2 hours or until done. | |
| It gets better with age when the cream cheese flavor becomes more noticeable and it freezes well. Any fresh fruit topping is a perfect accent, or it is great by itself. | |
| Anecdote: I used to be a letter carrier in Palo Alto, CA and a nice graduate student's wife left me some fresh, warm Devils Food Cake in a baggie for me on a cold, damp, miserable day. I asked for the recipe & she gave me this one too, so I'm glad to share it with everyone else :-) Rob R. | |
