Norwegian Meatballs

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb. hamburger
1/2  t  salt
dash of pepper
dash of ground nutmeg
1  T  flour

1 egg, beaten
1/3  c milk

3  cups beef broth or bouillon

1  T  cornstarch
1/3 cold water

DIRECTIONS:

1-  Mix together with a fork - the hamburger, salt, pepper, nutmeg & flour

2- Add the beaten egg & milk to the meat mixture and blend in completely.

3- Shape meatballs about the size of walnuts

4- Bring broth to a boil - add the meatballs to it and continue to boil for 5 minutes.

5- Remove the meatballs & put them in a bowl

6- Mix the cornstarch & water completely and add to the simmering broth & Immediately STIR it until it thickens

7- After the broth thickens, return the meatballs to it & simmer for 5 minutes.

8-  Serving suggestions: Serve with wide noodles or mashed potatoes and green beans

Makes 16 meatballs - serves 3 to 4 people.
